    day 16255

on days when the weather takes an unexpected turn from what you expected, it’s best to adjust your plans forward to act in a way that will allow you to enjoy what comes from a transition in the weather.

with fall in motion, the past few mornings have been unexpectedly cold, but a few hours into the day, the sun has highlighted the colors of the foilage and provided the comfort that normally is expected of spring temperatures.

i had the opportunity to run for at least two hours and thirty minutes yesterday and the temperatures were just right through the entire run. my focus in the present has been to run daily burning 1000 calories, but this run was not focused on that, simply to have an enjoyable run with no focus in mind.

i set off from home and ran onto the tonawanda rails to trails. from there onto part of the empire state trail and back home. For the last two miles of the run, i thought about my half marathon time during the 2022 buffalo half marathon of 1:59:52, which was the first time I had run a half marathon in a race.

the weather yesterday, was similar, however I ended the run yesterday with a desire to go further, but decided to finish at home since I had not fueled during this run, since the goal was to just have an enjoyable run. i did fuel prior to the run and on the route there are many opportunities to stop on the trails or between them, for water or other electrolytes and i’ll be planning on carrying my custom blend made by infinit nutrition to allow me to increase my mileage to about three to three and a half hours.

thank you for reading and enjoy your day ahead!
